JPF Co., Ltd., Ltd. (main office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shuntaro Watanabe; hereinafter referred to as "JPF") has been commissioned by Toyama City to hold the "3x3 Basketball Challenge (Experience Event)" on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the 3x3 basketball court (Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture) as part of the city's "Urban Sports Promotion and Popularization Project".

This event, aimed at elementary school students and older, will feature instruction from JPF-affiliated professional 3x3 basketball player Hisato Matsuyama on ball handling, dribbling, and skills applicable in one-on-one situations. The second half will include a 3x3 basketball game experience. (Four sessions are planned.)

[Held as part of Toyama City's project to promote and popularize urban sports]

In Toyama City, urban sports, which have been gaining attention among young people in recent years, will be held introductory sessions and tournaments for beginners as an opportunity to easily get started. JPF has been commissioned by Toyama City to manage this project. This introductory session will provide participants who aim to improve their basketball skills with the opportunity to learn individual skills from professional players and experience 3x3 basketball.

On the day of the event, the program will progress in stages, from basic ball control practice to practical skills that can be used in one-on-one situations, and finally to a 3x3 game format. 3x3 is gaining attention in youth development training as a sport that leads to improved individual skills, as each player has many opportunities to touch the ball and shoot.

First half: Basic training aimed at improving ball-handling and dribbling techniques, and instruction on practical skills that can be used in one-on-one situations.
Second half: 3x3 basketball (3-on-3 basketball), which is gaining attention as an official Olympic sport, will be used in game formats against opponents that you wouldn't normally face, helping you develop practical decision-making skills and a wider range of play.

[Future Outlook]
We hope that this event will serve as a starting point for developing a continuous initiative to enhance the appeal of Toyama City through urban sports.
I hope to empowering the town through sports by planning events that attract people from both within and outside the prefecture, and by creating environments that utilize local facilities.
