~Supporting athletes in balancing their athletic and academic pursuits and encouraging their career development~

JPF Co., Ltd. (main office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shuntaro Watanabe) has established the "JPF Scholarship Program" starting in 2025 with the aim of supporting students who are dedicated to competitive cycling to balance their studies and sports and build their future careers. Applications for the third cohort of students will begin on July 29, 2026.

background】
JPF Co., Ltd. has the vision of making cycling a major sport in Japan, and is working to improve the competitive environment and develop human resources involved in Cycing sports.

In support of the "Athlete Development Pathway" concept advocated by Japan Cycling Federation (JCF), JPF has been promoting cycling activities based at Koei Kyogi Facilities (Chiba, Toyama, Nagoya, Matsusaka, Kyoto, and Sanyo) under its management of Koei Kyogi venue, aiming to familiarize beginners and children with cycling and allow them to enjoy the sport. These efforts have been systematized and diagrammed by JPF into the "JPF's Vision for the Athlete Development Pathway." Furthermore, to support an environment where the next generation of athletes can steadily progress along this pathway, JPF has established the "JPF Scholarship Program" as a mechanism to encourage balancing academics and athletics. Through this program, JPF aims to cultivate individuals who will play an active role in Japan and around the world in the future.

Representative Director Shuntaro Watanabe

We are now accepting applications for the third cohort of JPF scholarships, which are for university students dedicated to competitive cycling.
Our scholarship recipients to date have grown significantly by diligently pursuing their studies while simultaneously improving their athletic abilities.
I believe that an athlete's role is not just about achieving results in competition. Sharing their experiences and challenges, and conveying the appeal and value of sports to society, is also an important mission. I believe that each individual's contribution will lead to the creation of new fans and fellow enthusiasts of cycling.
The JPF Scholarship aims to support the balance between academics and athletics, while also fostering individuals who can think for themselves, take on challenges, and communicate the value of taking on challenges to society. We wholeheartedly support all of you who continue to take on challenges with great ambition.

[Comment from JPF Support Athlete Kazushige Kuboki]

During my university days, I led Cycling club as vice-captain, winning both individual and team events at the Intercollegiate Championships, while also earning the credits necessary to obtain a teaching license, and I worked hard to balance my athletic career with my studies. The experience of working towards multiple goals in a limited time has formed the foundation for my drive and planning skills, which has also led to improved competitive ability.
Cycling is a sport that requires a large financial burden, including travel and equipment costs. I believe that programs like the JPF scholarship are a great help in reducing the financial burden and allowing athletes to focus on training and learning. I myself have been able to continue my challenges thanks to the great deal of support I have received. From that experience, I have come to strongly realize the importance of having supportive people and connections with society.
I will continue to cherish the feeling of "fun" that was the reason I started this sport, and will continue to take on my own challenges, while also supporting all those who take on the challenge.
