A pump Track becomes a runway! A "bicycle x upcycle fashion" event, conceived by users, is being held.

On June 5th (Fri) and 6th (Sat), 2026, the "PPC Riding SHOW," an event combining bicycles and upcycle fashion, was held at "PIST6 PUMPTRACK CHIBA (hereinafter PPC)," a pump Track facility located in the lawn area of Chiba Park.

This event was realized thanks to an idea from a PPC user. It was the first-ever project to transform the pump Track into a runway, with over 20 BMX and MTB riders, inline skaters, and skateboarders riding on it while wearing upcycled clothing. It served as an opportunity to demonstrate that PPC is not just a sports facility, but a place where people connect and new cultures are born.

On that day, many people stopped to watch, and communication through sports took place.

On the day of the event, users and staff members donned costumes and showcased their skills as models, riding down a runway that took advantage of the unique undulations of the pump Track. The wind and dynamic movement created by the course's ups and downs enhanced the appeal of the riders in their costumes.

From an everyday practice field to a place where culture is born.

PPC is a sports facility where people can enjoy BMX, MTB, skateboarding, and more. It is also a popular place where users of all generations can interact, and where new ideas and communities are born.

This "PPC Riding SHOW" is a project that originated from such everyday interactions.

Beyond competing in speed and skill, one of the charms of cycling is also gathering with friends, sharing ideas, and expressing your individuality.

An event born from user ideas

The project started with the idea that "when you run on a pump Track, your clothes flutter and look beautiful." Ichimoto-san of studio.Reboot, the unit that handled the overall creative direction, utilized his perspective as a user and collaborated with PPC staff on costume production and staging to create the event.

The costumes were upcycled, based on used clothing brought in by participants and staff. Various processes such as dyeing, bleaching, stenciling, and splattering were applied, and bicycle chains and other parts were used as motifs for the patterns. Participants created their own original designs, expressing their individuality with one-of-a-kind costumes.

"studio.Reboot" is dedicated to creating and promoting upcycled fashion. In this event, the word "cycle" is included in both "bicycle" and "upcycle," both of which mean circulation. The theme of this event is to create a cycle of interaction between towns and people, and a space created through PPC (Public-Private Printing).

A new opportunity for community interaction that can be enjoyed across generations.

The model riders and creative direction were handled by studio.Reboot (Mori and Ichimoto).

On the day of the event, users from a wide range of generations, from first-graders to people in their 60s, participated as models. A "train run" was also showcased, with more than 20 riders riding in a line. The sight of the riders racing through the course in perfect unison was breathtaking, and spectators and other users cheered each other on from the sidelines, enjoying the show together as one.
While it takes place at a sports facility like a pump Track, a unique feature of this event was that it wasn't about competing for scores or skills, but rather a place where each individual could freely express their own unique personality. Seeing children and adults enjoying the same stage through cycling demonstrated the true power of sports to connect people across generations.

PPC will continue to develop facilities that are open to the community, serving as places where people connect through cycling and where new experiences and cultures are born.

PPC Staff Comments

Pump Track are not yet widely known in Japan, and there are only four pump Track made by VELOSOLUTIONS, the same company that makes PPC, in the country. It was a great joy for me to be able to create the "PPC Riding SHOW" together with the users at PPC, one of those few pump tracks.

This is the first time we've invited our users to participate as performers. We made sure to emphasize that "the performers are not professional riders, but rather fun riders who enjoy PPC." We carefully structured the content to highlight the individuality and charm of each rider, considering their different riding levels, including kids' riders and female riders.

The event concluded safely without any accidents or injuries, and we heard positive comments from the participants such as, "I want to try jumping next year!" and "I want to join the Roll Train next year!" Seeing how new goals were born through the event made us feel that it was worthwhile to hold it.

[About the pump Track]

A pump Track is a circular course with a series of bumps and curves. It is used in wheeled sports such as cycling and skateboarding, and is characterized by acceleration achieved by "pumping," which is an up-and-down movement of the body. In Europe in particular, pump tracks are being installed in parks and other public spaces as health promotion facilities where people of all ages, from children to the elderly, can easily enjoy exercise. Because it allows people to train their balance and core muscles while having fun, it is a popular activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and athletic experience levels.
