JPF Presents MTB Challenge 2026: The 1st Mie Stage was held.
Supporting children's "challenges"! Promoting mountain biking as an entry point into cycling.
The "JPF Presents MTB Challenge 2026 1st Mie Stage" was held on Saturday, June 20th at the Seiwa no Mori Mountain Bike Course in Taki Town, Mie Prefecture.
This event was held with the aim of creating an opportunity for children to experience the fun of cycling and the joy of taking on challenges, and it attracted many participants, from beginners to experienced cyclists.
Despite the unfortunate rainy weather, 16 people participated in the MTB race.

Due to the rain forecast, the schedule and course were modified, and the event was held with safety in mind.
Despite the continuous rain, the children ran through the mud, receiving much cheering from their parents and staff, creating a sense of unity between participants and organizing staff at the venue.
In the kids' race, elementary school students powerfully raced along the specially prepared course, running with all their might towards the finish line. In the endurance race, it was impressive to see parents and children, as well as solo participants, enjoying the challenging conditions while riding their mountain bikes.
While there were challenges unique to holding the event in rainy weather, it was an event where participants could truly experience the charm of mountain biking and the joy of taking on a challenge.
JPF will continue to work towards the theme of "Making cycling a major sport in Japan," creating opportunities for children to become familiar with, challenge themselves with, and grow through cycling, while also promoting cycling and developing the next generation of Cycing sports culture.
[Comments from children who participated for the first time]
It was tough, but fun.
・The course that went around and around was fun!
It was raining, so I didn't really want to go out at first, but I enjoyed the run.
[Comments from parents]
The biggest appeal is being able to meet and interact with various people. And above all, I think the best thing is seeing the children participating and having fun.
My youngest child is in the middle year of kindergarten this year, and has just recently started riding a bicycle. As they grow older, I would definitely like them to participate.
