Kuboki competed in three events at this tournament: team pursuit, omnium, and madison. In the individual omnium event, he won the silver medal after a close race against some of the world's top athletes, finishing just two points behind first place.
The other day, before the World Championships, Kuboki paid us a courtesy visit and gave us a powerful comment: "Please look forward to it." True to his words, Kuboki won the silver medal at the tournament, the highest ranking for a Japanese man in the omnium, achieving the incredible feat of winning a medal for the fourth consecutive year, once again proving his high level of skill and mental strength.

Over the past four years, Kuboki has consistently maintained a level where he could aim for a medal on the world stage. He commented on the motivation that drives his high performance and his honest feelings after finishing this tournament as follows:
"I was aiming to win my first omnium so I am disappointed, but unlike when I won the silver medal four years ago, I can't honestly be happy about it, so I think that's proof of my growth. Next year I really want to aim for the gold medal. As for my motivation, the support from the Japan Cycling Federation and HPCJC, the success of my teammates, and the inspiration I've had since joining Keirin world four years ago have all been major driving forces. I'm 36 now, but I still have a long way to go. I've always thought of myself as a 'late bloomer', and I feel that these words are finally starting to take shape now."
He also shared his thoughts about Los Angeles three years from now.
"Going to Los Angeles is also a personal challenge for me, and I'm looking forward to using my experience to demonstrate what more I can do. Every year is a challenge, and of course I'll be competing in Keirin. There is a risk of injury, but even with that, I want to compete in the competitive world and continue to compete at the forefront with top athletes from overseas. As long as I have this desire, I think I can continue to grow."

Kuboki's challenge continues.
Please keep an eye on Kuboki's further success in the future.
