JPF Scholarship Program: Second batch of applicants now open
~Supporting athletes in balancing their athletic and academic pursuits and encouraging their career development~
JPF Co., Ltd. (main office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shuntaro Watanabe) has established the "JPF Scholarship Program" from 2025 with the aim of supporting students who are dedicated to cycling, balancing their studies and sports, and building their future careers. We are now accepting applications for the second batch of students. This second batch will also include third-year high school students who plan to go on to university, and we will support a wider range of young people in their pursuit of success.

Under the slogan "Making cycling a major sport," JPF Co., Ltd. is working to improve the competitive environment and develop human resources involved in Cycing sports.
In support of the "Athlete Development Pathway" concept advocated by Japan Cycling Federation, JPF has been promoting activities to help beginners and children become familiar with cycling and experience the sport while having fun, starting from Koei Kyogi Facilities (Chiba, Toyama, Nagoya, Matsusaka, Kyoto, and Sanyo) for management of Koei Kyogi venue with comprehensive management. JPF has systematized these efforts and created its own diagram, the "JPF Athlete Development Pathway." Furthermore, to support an environment in which the next generation of athletes can steadily advance in line with this pathway, we have established the "JPF Scholarship Program" as a mechanism to support the balancing of academics and athletics. Through this program, we aim to develop human resources who will be active in Japan and around the world in the future.

[Comment from Representative Director Shuntaro Watanabe]

Following on from the first batch, we are now welcoming the second batch of students under our scholarship program for university students who are dedicated to cycling. The first-year scholarship recipients have made great strides in their respective fields, demonstrating their abilities in both their academic and athletic pursuits. We believe that their efforts have once again demonstrated that the value of cycling goes beyond athletic achievement, and that the human qualities and leadership cultivated through challenges can be utilized in society. With the new second batch of students, we hope that this circle will expand even further, and that human resource development through cycling will contribute to society as a whole.
In developing an athlete's career, not only is improving their competitive ability an important issue, but also their future after retirement. Through this system, we aim to create an environment in which athletes can continue to play an active role in society even after retirement, further enhancing the value of cycling. We hope that you will agree with the purpose of this system and continue to provide your warm support.
[Comment from JPF Support Athlete Kazushige Kuboki]

During my university days, I led Cycling club as vice-captain, winning both individual and team events at the Intercollegiate Championships, while also earning the credits necessary to obtain a teaching license, and I worked hard to balance my athletic career with my studies. The experience of working towards multiple goals in a limited time has formed the foundation for my drive and planning skills, which has also led to improved competitive ability.
Cycling is a sport that requires a large financial burden, including travel and equipment costs. I believe that programs like the JPF scholarship are a great help in reducing the financial burden and allowing athletes to focus on training and learning. I myself have been able to continue my challenges thanks to the great deal of support I have received. From that experience, I have come to strongly realize the importance of having supportive people and connections with society.
I will continue to cherish the feeling of "fun" that was the reason I started this sport, and will continue to take on my own challenges, while also supporting all those who take on the challenge.
